Every member of the Order carries two things: a shadow — the weakness they believe defines them — and a gift buried underneath it. The shadow is a corruption of the gift. Fear is corrupted vision. Rage is corrupted creativity. Performance is corrupted prophecy.

The Order finds the wound in the gift, and offers to fill it. The person fills themselves with the Order instead.
